Above all, I’m thrilled you are here! I think you’ll find that you and I have some things in common.
Like, have you ever learned a lesson from your dogs? Or found yourself in an unsatisfying relationship? Or had one of those days when you look around and feel as though everyone knows more than you do? Or experienced an epiphany while watching inmates play charades? Yeah, me too.
Have you ever lived in the attic of a haunted, historic bed and breakfast? Taught young musicians to play the cello? Have you served as the foreperson of a jury and persuaded 10 jurors to change their minds? Ever cover thousands of miles on foot over 11 summers as an NPS backcountry ranger? I have.
All that good stuff went down in my previous life. Since 2002, I have been active in education as a teacher, mentor, and ed tech leader. I even have some fancy-ish credentials to prove it:
- National Board Certified Teacher, English Language Arts
- Certified Master Teacher, Colorado Department of Education
- MA in Instruction and Curriculum, University of Colorado at Boulder
Community is important to me, so I am especially grateful you are here, and I hope you’ll come back; you can subscribe to my blog using one of the links at the bottom of this page (below the comments)—and spread the word, too!
